about
A Message from Cynthia
Whether we step onto the yoga mat, sit in meditation, or begin self-inquiry, we make a sacred commitment: to guide ourselves into the present moment and meet ourselves exactly as we are. For nearly twenty years, I have practiced within a lineage rooted in compassion for all beings, with the aim of easing the suffering that comes with being human—a practice that uses the body as a doorway to move beyond the body.
My role is to support you as you explore what lies within through an intentional blend of movement, breathwork, and reflective dialogue. Together, we will gently dissolve the patterns that keep you stuck, helping you cultivate grace for your humanity and step into your full potential.
Bio
For nearly twenty years, Cynthia has taught alignment-based vinyasa flow and restorative yoga in Chicago, IL, and Bend, OR. She has led workshops nationwide, private and group sessions, and retreats in Mexico. Her classes blend yoga philosophy, practical tools for daily life, mindful sequencing—sometimes powerful, sometimes restorative—precise alignment, meditation, and breathwork.
Cynthia began her teaching journey in 2005 at the Himalayan Institute, completing a 200-hour training. She continued her studies at Moksha Yoga Center and began teaching full-time in 2007. Since 2012, Cynthia has studied with Rolf Gates, earning her 500-hour RYT in 2020. That same year, she became a certified Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Facilitator and co-created a meditation course for hospital workers, which has run since 2023.
Cynthia has had the privilege of studying with various master teachers, including Seane Corn and Hala Khouri. In 2009, she completed the Off the Mat Into the World Intensive, which prepared her for long-term work with the non-profit World Muse as Program and Event Director, Volunteer Coordinator, and Retreat Facilitator.
This fall, Cynthia is pursuing a Master’s in Counseling Psychology at The Wright Institute, in Berkeley, CA, deepening the integration of contemplative practice with mental health.
